Description
Trex posts are standalone components, not sleeves, so they do not require reinforcement in most cases. However, because the posts are hollow, they can slide over a steel post stiffener for appropriate applications such as gates or tall fences.
Steel Post Stiffener are compatible with posts used for Seclusions or Horizons systems. Stiffeners support gate hinge posts and are available in different gauges and heights depending on the size of the gate panel and the height. A Steel Post Stiffener is not intended to be used externally, only inside a Trex composite post.
Self-drilling fasteners are supplied with the gate hinges to attach through the Trex composite post into the steel post stiffener. The latch post side or all other Trex posts installed in the ground for fence heights up to 8ft tall do not require a steel post stiffener.
